I started my teaching career in Australia in 1991 and after nine wonderful years made the decision to move to London to see the world and experience teaching in the UK. I began my overseas career at Queen’s Manor Primary school as a class teacher and Head of the Special Needs Unit. In 2005 I took on the additional role of Deputy Head alongside Sonja Harrison.
In September 2009 I was appointed to the position of Head at Fulham Primary School. I am very proud to be working at such an amazing community school and feel like this has become my second family. I love teaching at Fulham Primary because of the school’s amazing diversity and its commitment to creating a positive, happy, safe and purposeful learning environment for all pupils. I have taught at the school since 2005, gaining experience with all year groups from Year 1 to Year 6.
Prior to becoming a teacher in 2005, I was employed by Qantas Airways and bmi British Midland in Corporate Sales. As well as providing useful business experience, it also gave some great travel opportunities.
I am currently Joint Secretary of the Hammersmith & Fulham Branch of the National Education Union, regularly negotiating on behalf of local members and campaigning on educational policy.
Outside of school, I like to keep fit and regularly run, cycle and have been playing football on a Monday night consistently for almost 30 years. I have an enthusiastic and eclectic taste in music and enjoy watching live music whenever and wherever I can.
