For Summer Term 2 2017 we will be learning about the Inspire Topic
‘Our Commonwealth” to find out about:
- What is Commonwealth?
- Who area the members of Commonwealth?
- Where and why was it created?
- What does it mean to you to be part of commonwealth?
Power of Reading book for this term is ‘Under the Moon and Over the Sea!’, a collection of Caribbean Poetry.
Year 5 have been corresponding with a French School throughout this year. On Thursday, we finally got to meet our penpals for lunch at the Natural History Museum!
The French pupils had come to visit London for a week, and we were so excited to get the chance to meet face to face. Pupils had a picnic together, exchanged small gifts and attempted to communicate in both French and English!
It was a joy to see how the children engaged with each other and immediately found common ground and began playing. There was some discussion about the differences too – particularly the fact that French Schools don’t wear uniform!
The children and teachers all enjoyed swapping experiences and getting to know each other, and the children did Fulham Primary proud in how they represented us.
We will certainly be continuing to swap letters and news, and it will be all the more meaningful now we have met each other!
We wrote some beautiful poems about our names and identity as part of our English work a Jemmy Button.

On Tuesday 6th December our class visited Science Museum relating to our topic on Space this half term. We had a great time and here is a report written by the children and also some pictures:
